#Scotland17 Day Twenty Two – The Dark Nith Rises

The last full day of #Scotland17 and a second race of the weekend – The Doonhamer 10k along the River Nith. Whilst the route didn’t stand a chance of competing with the beauty of Killin yesterday, it did have three live music groups performing around the route: bagpipers; tartan clad samba drummers; and an orchestra! I managed a slightly faster overall than yesterday though my legs were feeling very heavy. No medal (!!) but a lovely towel which fits in with the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy audio books I have been listening to along the journey!

After the race, I headed to Annan and another lovely B&B – the Rowanbank Guesthouse. The village itself boasts some lovely architecture, links to Robert Burns and great eateries. I ate at The Cafe Royal and enjoyed chicken, chips and a pudding of many, many calories.

A lovely final day, Scotland has been amazing and I look forward to getting back at some point.
