#Scotland17 Day Fourteen: The Grand Bonhoga Gallery

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it” – Ansel Adams

A visit today with my favourite Shetland family to my favourite Shetland art gallery, the wonderful Bonhoga. Based in Weisdale Mill, the gallery, shop and cafe are situated towards the west of the isle about a 15-minute drive from Lerwick. Each time I have visited not only have I seen excellent artwork, I have also enjoyed the ambience of the place and the odd cream tea!

An afternoon over at the Swimming Pool reacquainting myself with the flumes and the river rapids. For dinner today, a most novel dish from the Scalloway Meat Company: IrnBru sausages! An evening spent watching passengers with Phil’s incredible homemade popcorn. Great day!

Shetlandic word of the day: FAERDIE-MAET – food for a journey.
