#Scotland17 Day Thirteen: North by North Ness Boys

“Live music is better” – Neil Young

After yesterday’s exhausting exertions, today required something a bit more relaxed and a chance for my legs and shoulders to recover. Thankfully a morning of relaxation, a meander into town, sorting out car insurance (ok, less relaxing!), many cups of tea and some summer holiday reading ensued.

The evening was spent in Lerwick taking a few photos for Lerwick Baptist Church as they welcome the new pastor and his family. It was also a chance to see the North Ness Boys – whose Christmas album I have streamed hundreds of times – perform live. Aubrey, Clive and Trevor were joined by some friends and it made for a super night.

Lots of photos from the day, not necessarily of the island, but certainly capturing something of island life.

Shetlandic word of the day: FILSKET – high-spirited.
